Abbeyleigh Stringer has left Villa Ladies to join Blues Ladies.
Midfielder Stringer has struggled to break into the claret and blue side this season, with Sherry McCue, Maddy Cusack and Sarah Mayling ahead of her in the pecking order.
Head Coach Joe Hunt said: "Abbeyleigh and her family decided they wanted to move across the city for first team football and we'd never stand in their way.
"Abbeyleigh has been with us for five years now and has played a vital role in the transition of the team.
"Unfortunately she got injured in the warm-up in the first game of the season against Doncaster Belles and has only just got herself fully fit.
"With the team doing well, she has struggled to break back into the side and decided to have a go at Super League 1 with Blues.
"We wish he good luck with her new team and hope she has a good U20 World Cup in August.
"We'll not look to replace externally - we have plenty of cover in the midfield area within our squad and the Centre of Excellence.
"We have Sherry McCue, Sarah Mayling and Maddy Cusack already settled in the senior environment and Emily Owen, who can also play in the middle, is making incredible progress from serious injury.
"It's now up to people like Chloe Harper from our development team and Lucy Porter and Mollie Rouse from our U17s to push on and try to break into the first team.
"I'm sure they will because they are quality players with a great work ethic."
Stringer has been at Villa for five seasons and graduated through the Centre of Excellence.
