Paul Lambert insists Christian Benteke has the mental toughness to quickly overcome his Old Trafford disappointment.
Benteke had two great opportunities at pivotal moments in Saturday's 4-1 defeat against Manchester United but was unable to capitalise on them.
But Lambert insists those misses won't hurt the Belgian hotshot's self belief.
"He will score the next one," said the Villa boss.
"He could have come away with a couple of goals.
"On another day they go in. He won't have self doubt, he'll be fine with that.
"He'll forget about it and then go onto the next one."
Lambert has been happy with Benteke's all-round game this season, even though his campaign has been disrupted by injury.
And he believes the 23-year-old is showing signs of growing maturity with every match.
"He's getting there in terms of maturity," added Lambert.
"He's still relatively young in terms of Premier League football. I thought his game against United was good.
"He is an absolute handful when he's on it. He is growing up and a few of them are getting better."
