Paul Lambert reflected on the past few months of the season and admitted: "Leandro Bacuna has been a big bonus for us."
Bacuna has cemented his position at right-back and performed admirably from a defensive perspective, keeping Eden Hazard quiet in the wonder win over Chelsea.
Lambert has been thrilled with this resilience as part of a very competent back four, including Ron Vlaar, Nathan Baker and Ryan Bertrand - and most recently Joe Bennett.
But the manager says that Bacuna's good goals ratio has given him an extra significance in claret and blue.
The popular Dutchman has hit goals against Man City, Cardiff, West Brom, Everton and Norwich City - his goal against the Canaries highlighted by the boss for its energetic build-up.
He said: "Leo has a very impressive tally - and from right-back.
"That's really great, particularly when you consider he's just here in the Premier League. He's only just arrived really.
"He's been a big bonus for us. He's offered us a really attacking threat.
"Look at his goal against Norwich. He and Weimann start virtually parallel with each other on the 18-yard box.
"Gabby passes to Andi and he slips Leo in. It was a great goal and his fitness levels were great.
"He's got that in his game - great energy.
"But to chip in with that amount of goals has been a big bonus."
