Gabby Agbonlahor has stressed the importance of reaching that magical 40 point mark.
Agbonlahor appreciates Villa are in the healthy position of 11th in the Barclays Premier League.
But he wants to see the team push on with their tally in the coming games.
The 40 point mark has generally been regarded as the holy grail when it comes to staying in the illustrious top-flight.
And Agbonlahor is happy to live by that motto as he looks ahead to the remaining 10 matches.
He said: "We're on 31 points at the moment - not 40.
"We have to keep on getting the results as early as possible and not leave it late.
"We want to pull away a bit more and try to get to that 40 point mark as quickly as we can.
"We are confident - and the gaffer gives us the confidence.
"His instructions are always to go out and play freely. He gives us an attacking incentive. That came off against Norwich. Now we want to continue to do it."
Next up, of course, is Chelsea in B6 - a game Agbonlahor is relishing.
He hopes Villa can take the belief gained against the Canaries to give the Blues a really tough game on Saturday.
He added: "We want to be on top form.
"We're looking forward to the match because these are the sort of games that players want to play in.
"We have had our ups and downs this season but it's important we take the positives from the Norwich game. We will go into the next two home games with confidence.
"We've seen what we can do when we play at home at a high tempo.
"We have left it late to start getting the results at Villa Park but it has always been coming. We missed out in a few games where we've been unlucky.
"If you look at the Everton game we had a few chances early on. But Norwich was a game where things started to go in for us."
