Ryan Bertrand insists Villa have Southampton in their sights as he eyes a top-half finish in claret and blue.
Villa currently lie in 11th place, 11 points behind the high-flying Saints with a game in hand.
Bertrand would love nothing more than to catch the St Mary's outfit in the remaining 10 games of the 2013-14 campaign.
And he says that if they can't achieve that feat, they are eager to claim 10th, currently occupied by West Ham.
He told AVTV: "There's a buzz about the place at the moment. The win over Norwich does wonders for us. We just need to keep focused now.
"We have had a mixed bag of results but we had a good win the other weekend and we want to take that into the next game.
"We're looking at as high as ninth in the Premier League. But we can definitely push for the 10th spot and that, in my opinion, would be a really good finish.
"We don't want to set a limit on it in terms of points. We just want to win as many games as we can between now and the end of the season.
"I think the lads have shown people where the bar can be set, especially against Norwich.
"It's important to try and get the consistency now - not to necessarily match those levels equally, but to be not too far off that on a consistent basis.
"If we do that, we'll be able to achieve some great things.
"It goes to show how far the team can go if we can achieve that consistency.''
Bertrand won't be able to play this weekend as his parent club Chelsea - chasing the title - come to town.
But he says he feels great after settling in brilliantly in B6.
He added: "I had my own personal goals to, first off, get that fitness up in the first few games.
"Then it was about really start pushing on.
"Paul Lambert was one of the main catalysts of me coming to this club, because he is a manager whose teams play the way that I like to play.
"He really encourages you to express yourself on the pitch so it's always a pleasure to play this way.
"To play with the boys has been fantastic and it's been great on and off the pitch. In training there's a fantastic mentality from all the guys and it's a fantastic place to learn."
