Ryan Bertrand reckons there is a "quiet confidence" about Villa after their brilliant attacking display against Norwich.
Paul Lambert's team saw off the Canaries with a brilliant 16-minute blitz last weekend and Bertrand says the performance had been coming.
The on-loan Chelsea full-back felt Villa had been unlucky to emerge with just a point from games against West Ham, Cardiff and Newcastle.
But the Norwich victory provided the perfect tonic going into a break from Barclays Premier League action.
"I think you've seen in the game where we've perhaps not been so fortunate, the draw at Cardiff and the two losses against West Ham and Newcastle," said Bertrand.
"At Cardiff, there were some world class saves from their keeper, West Ham it was just constant pressure on their goal and Newcastle, in the first half, if we'd have had the rub of the green we'd have been able to go in at least 1-0 up at half-time.
"There's been a quiet confidence, but with the result and the way the team played the other day against Norwich it all came to the fore.
"A win does wonders for the club. We're in an okay position now so we have to keep focused and keep it going for as long as we can.
"We've had a mixed bag of results but it's important that we've been able to get a good win just before the break and hopefully we can take that into the next game."
