A depleted Villa side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in Saturday's Barclays U18 Premier League clash.
The claret and blues went into the clash with a catalogue of injuries and their cause wasn't helped when Riccardo Calder and Kevin Toner were forced off with niggles.
But the home team managed to stay in contention against the Blues until the last 30 minutes.
Charlie Bannister kept Villa in the game with a first-half penalty save to deny Chelsea skipper Charlie Colkett.
The breakthrough came on the hour mark when Colkett's corner was powerfully headed in by Jake Clarke-Salter.
The away team's advantage was quickly added to as Kasey Palmer fed Tammy Abraham who made it 2-0.
Chelsea were awarded another penalty late on and this time Kasey Palmer made no mistake with the spot-kick.
