Wolves U18 4-3 Villa U18: Defeat for kids despite strong start

Villa were undone by a second-half Wolves revival in this Barclays U18 Premier League clash at Compton.

The claret and blues surged into a two-goal lead with Ryan Strain scoring after eight minutes and Harry McKirdy netting soon after.

Bradley Reid pulled one back for the hosts before defender Kevin Toner added a third for Villa.

There was still time for Wolves forward Reid to dribble round Aiden Grant to make it 3-2 before the break.

After the break, Dan Murray equalised for the home side with a shot from the edge of the box.

The winning goal came when a corner from Declan Weeks missed everyone before going straight in.

VILLA: Grant, Zazrivec, Green, Suliman, Lyons-Foster, Toner, Taylor, McKirdy, T Strain, Abdo, R Strain. Subs: O'Brien [Taylor 63], Forth, Sellars [for T Strain 74], Lewis, Hepburn-Murphy [for McKirdy 30].
