Paul Lambert insisted he'd have no problem partnering Christian Benteke with newboy Grant Holt.
Holt signed from Wigan on loan this Tuesday and trained with the team on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of the big clash with Liverpool.
Lambert said Benteke and Holt could form a pairing of great physicality.
But the gaffer was also keen to stress the terrific mix in his striking ranks, including Gabby Agbonlahor's speed and Andreas Weimann's industry.
On whether Benteke could play with Holt, he said: "I have no doubt about that.
"They used to say the same about Grant Holt and Steve Morison. They used to say they couldn't play together.
"The two of them were a handful for me at Norwich.
"I wouldn't have a problem with playing Christian and Grant together. I think they would bring a physicality to things.
"When you look at their physicality allied to Gabby's speed and Andi's endeavour, there are a lot of options there."
Holt himself is relishing the prospect of playing with Benteke.
But he too hailed the abundance of attacking riches in claret and blue.
When asked if the two could pair up, he added: "I hope so.
"He's a great player. He's a fantastic player. It's another big year for him. I am sure he will come on in leaps and bounds.
"You have Gabby also, one of the quickest I have seen. He can stretch anyone in the division and there's Andi too who has great effort and endeavour and can score goals no doubt.
"We have some talented players. I am sure we will get goals."
