Ashley Westwood is relishing another opportunity to go head-to-head with a man he describes as "the complete midfielder".
Westwood looks set to come up against Jack Wilshere in tomorrow night's encounter with Arsenal at Villa Park.
He believes the 22-year-old Gunners star is setting the benchmark for all young English midfielders.
"He is very good to play against - that is why he is an England international," he said.
"He is very good. He can run with the ball, he can take people on, he can create chances.
"If he scores a few goals then he will be the complete midfielder."
Westwood says the claret and blues will take great heart from their opening day victory over Arsene Wenger's team.
But he has warned that Arsenal are now a much more formidable outfit than the one Villa faced at The Emirates back in August.
The Gunners - who have been galvanised by the deadline day arrival of Mesut Ozil - embarked on an impressive run since the defeat to Paul Lambert's side, losing only to Manchester United and Manchester City.
"We are the only team to have beaten them at The Emirates this season," said Westwood.
"We've got confidence in that. It is going to be a different game now that they've strengthened but we are confident that we can do a job against them.
"I think the result in the first game of the season hurt them so they will want to come out and play.
"But we are prepared for it and hopefully we'll get the result."
Westwood reckons the signing of Ozil has been crucial to Arsenal's success so far this term.
"I think he gave them that lift early on - the big signing they have always been crying out for," he added.
"He is a world class player who has played for Real Madrid.
"You can't be a bad player if you've played for them. I think he has given them a real lift."
