Samir Carruthers is to remain at League One side MK Dons until April 3.
Carruthers has agreed an extension to his youth loan deal after making a big impression since moving to the Stadium MK back in August.
The Republic of Ireland U21 international has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Karl Robinson's team, scoring one goal.
Since joining Villa from Arsenal as a schoolboy, midfielder Carruthers has been a standout performer for the club's reserves, U21 and youth sides.
He was part of the team that reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2009-10 and helped the reserves win the Barclays Premier Reserve League South title in 2011-12.
During the 2011-12 campaign, Carruthers made three Barclays Premier League appearances - coming on as a substitute against Liverpool, Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion.
Last term, the 20-year-old captained Villa to a memorable triumph in the NextGen Series European competition.
