Gabby Agbonlahor made a point of celebrating with his team-mates when he scored against Swansea - and the experienced striker insists it's this kind of togetherness which will push the club on this season.
Villa picked up what Agbonlahor believes is a "good point" with the Swans on Saturday.
He insists that stopping the run of defeats was the vital commodity in the 1-1 draw.
Agbonlahor accepts that Villa haven't enjoyed a smooth run of form over the past few weeks but he thinks that unity in camp will ensure a brighter second half of the campaign.
He told AVTV: "It was a good start. But we were disappointed to concede the equaliser.
"Overall, it was a good point. We'd obviously have preferred three points but I think if you don't win a game, make sure you don't lose it. We wanted to stop the run of four losses on the trot.
"It was nice to score the goal, especially in front of the Holte End, which is obviously a big thing."
On the celebration, he added: "We want to stick together. Through the good times and bad times, we'll always be a team. That's something the gaffer has drilled into us.
"You don't single anyone out when it's going good or when it's going bad. We stay together.
"We have to keep doing that. We will get the results.
"It's about not giving up, fighting 100% in every game and trying your hardest, those are the main things.
"We might not be showing the best quality at the moment but if we fight, we will be fine."
