Fabian Delph has already won a record number of man-of-the-match votes - aswell as player of the month accolades - this season and he's on course for more after earning top figures against Stoke.

When it comes to the essential battling qualities in midfield, Delph was No.1 across both teams, earning top marks in ball recovery and tackles.

But he also outranked most on the pitch for passes and attacking third passes, also.

Ashley Westwood and Ciaran Clark also performed well when the stats were analysed.

Delph was No.2 for passes - just behind Steven N'Zonzi - with 29 successful from 39 made. Westwood was No.4 with 23 successful from 33 made.

Delph was No.1 for attacking third passes with 10 successful from 18 made. Westwood was No.5 with eight successful from 13 made.

Delph was No.1 for ball recoveries with eight. Westwood was No.4 with seven. Aleks Tonev was No.5 with five.

Delph was No.1 for tackles with five successful from five made. Clark was No.3 with four successful from five made. Matt Lowton was No.4 with three successful from four made.

Libor Kozak was No.1 for shots with two in total, two on target and one goal. Tonev was No.4 with two in total and one on target. Nathan Baker was No.5 with one in total and one on target.

Westwood was No.3 for chances created with three. Kozak was No.4 with two.

Andreas Weimann was No.1 for take-ons with two successful from three attempted. Marc Albrighton was No.2 with two successful from two attempted. Kozak was No.5 with one successful from two attempted.

Westwood was No.1 for interceptions with two.

Baker, Clark and Lowton were joint No.2 for blocks with one.

Baker and Clark were joint No.2 for clearances with six successful from six attempted. Chris Herd was No.6 with three successful from three attempted.

Herd was No.4 for aerial duels with four won from 11 attempted.

Weimann was No.2 for fouls suffered with three.

Delph to Clark was No.1 pass combination for Villa - and the game as a whole - with 12. Lowton to Albrighton was No.3 with nine.
