Paul Lambert was frustrated with the loss to Man Utd - but admitted the all-action performance of Marc Albrighton was a plus.
Lambert was not only pleased with Albrighton's dynamic display but also the fact he's actually out there playing at all following a horrid time with injuries.
Albrighton returned to the squad for the game with Sunderland before playing 90 minutes against the Red Devils.
That was preceded by two seasons where he failed to make an impact due to a host of fitness problems.
Lambert was happy to see him back and impressed with his contribution against the champions, despite the defeat.
He said: "Marc did great. Marc was excellent.
"That was his first game in the Premier League for a long time, due to injuries.
"I thought his performance was very good.
"He put some great balls in. His work-rate and energy was great.
"He was definitely the plus out there."
Of course, Albrighton was on loan at Wigan before Lambert recalled the winger.
Lambert knows the importance of having options, including Albrighton, this festive season.
He added: "I need everybody. Everyone will need to be part of it because of the amount of games."
