Brad Guzan has dismissed suggestions that this afternoon's opponents Manchester United have lost their aura.
The defending Barclays Premier League champions arrive at Villa Park on the back of consecutive top-flight defeats to Everton and Newcastle.
United have undergone a tough transition since David Moyes took over legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer.
But Guzan insists there is still the same buzz about facing the Red Devils despite their indifferent form.
"I think they're always going to have that aura, that buzz, regardless of the situation they're in, because of the quality of players they have," said the goalkeeper.
"For us every game is important and in this league as we know there's no easy games - whether you're playing so called top four, middle of the table team or a team at the bottom, you always have to be up for it.
"That's what the league is all about. There are no easy games and for 90 minutes anyone can beat anyone.
"You have to make sure you show up, and if you don't you're going to be punished."
Guzan admits Villa's inexperience was evident last term when they surrendered a two-goal lead against United.
The USA international has seen the claret and blues mature as a group since that encounter.
"That was our inexperience a little bit," he added.
"Last year we had a lot of guys first year in the league.
"Before you know it you find yourself 2-0 up against Manchester United and it can be a bit of a shock.
"Last year that is probably what it was and the next thing you find yourself losing 3-2.
"I think we've matured. I think we've grown from last year and that's going to be important going into a difficult game like we have on Sunday."
