Fabian Delph was thrilled to score a corking winner - but equally delighted to celebrate with the travelling claret and blue faithful at Southampton.
Delph raced over to the away end - packed up with over 2,000 supporters - to drink in the applause and give them a big thumbs-up too.
In fact, one of the best photographs of the night was Delph turning to the fans and producing a look as if to say: "Did you just see that?"
Delph insisted after the game that the team, so clinical on the road, owe a big debt to their road warrior supporters.
He said: "It's not the shortest trip! But they were the loudest fans in the stadium!
"It was nice to get the goal and go to celebrate with them. They were fantastic.
"All credit to them. They stuck with us every step of the way. It was great to see them so happy after the goals - and at the final whistle."
Delph was pleased for the fans - and also overjoyed to shut Ashley Westwood up.
Delph said he's been receiving untold stick from Baggies hero Westwood for his lack of goals.
But the former Leeds ace did the business in fine style at St Mary's.
He added: "It's been a while. I was getting a fair bit of stick from the other midfielders, Westy in particular, and it was nice to shut him up!
"I gave Gabby the assist for the first and he paid me back with the winner. That's what he told me in the changing room, anyway!
"I saw Christian and was initially going to put him in but I think he went too wide. So I took a touch and struck it. It went in.
"Christian looked at me in shock as if to say: "Did that actually just go in?"
"It was nice to score the winner but it was all about the team performance. The boys dug in so all credit to the lads.
"There was a lot of grit and determination in the boys. There has always been belief. There are good characters here too. We are in a good position."
