Andreas Weimann has described Aleksandar Tonev as a special talent as he backed the pacey playmaker to come good in claret and blue.
Weimann believes Tonev is improving with every game, after hailing his tricky wing performance in the 2-0 win over Cardiff.
Weimann says Tonev has "everything you want in a footballer" and thinks the progress will be there for all to see in the coming weeks and months ahead.
Tonev is renowned for his 'shoot on sight' policy and Weimann doesn't blame him after seeing the 24-year-old score some worldies in training.
He believes it's only a matter of time before the net bulges and Tonev celebrates a scorching effort.
He said: "If you look at what you want in a footballer, Aleks has got everything.
"He's strong, quick, he's two-footed, he's a good crosser and he's dangerous going-forward.
"He has had a few shots so far but maybe he's trying a bit too hard.
"In training, he scores every day. You know he will find the target at Bodymoor and there are some crackers with both feet.
"Perhaps in games, as I said, he tries too hard. But in matches, we know what he's doing and we know what he's capable of.
"That's why we will never give him a hard time if he has a shot. It's only a matter of time before he scores a screamer.
"I thought his performance against Cardiff was his best so far. He looked dangerous out on the left with some good movement and dangerous crosses.
"He's improving all the time. That game showed that. Long may that progress continue.
"It's his first season so it will take time for him to settle in this country and at a new club. You can't underestimate that. It can take time.
"Look at Christian. It took a few months before he settled and started scoring goals. Look what happened with him.
"Aleks is getting better all the time and we're confident he will make a big impact here at the club.
"He's a special talent. I think he will come through to be an important player for us. That's what I think - and what I hope."
