Leandro Bacuna is getting top tips from team-mate Antonio Luna as he continues to grow in to his new role at full-back.
Bacuna has been impressive since stepping in to the right-back role in Villa's back four in recent weeks.
And the Dutchman revealed he is taking his lead from Luna on the opposite flank in order to improve his game.
"I've started to look at him more now as I'm not originally a full-back but I'm playing there at the moment," said Luna.
"I think I can learn from Antonio. He is going up and down all the time - always attacking and defending.
"I will keep improving my own game and maybe I can learn from him."
Bacuna believes Villa can build on their recent clean sheets against Norwich City and Hull.
He hailed the contributions of skipper Ron Vlaar and goalkeeper Brad Guzan in helping the claret and blues become a meaner outfit.
"Brad is doing well at the moment," said the former Groningen ace.
"Against Norwich he was doing some really good stuff and helped us through the game.
"He made some really good saves and when we are playing we feel like you have a guard protecting us.
"Ron is a quiet guy but he always wants to win.
"He goes into the battle and he doesn't want to lose. He is a really good guy to work with."
