Ron Vlaar insists the players are determined to put a smile on the face of Jores Okore by continuing their good form.
Vlaar says the lads were gutted when they discovered the extent of Okore's injury, which looks set to keep him out for the rest of the campaign.
But Vlaar says that Okore will be an inspiration for the squad as they aim to build on wins over Arsenal, Norwich and Man City.
He said: "It was really bad news for Jores. He now has an ACL injury. He was doing really good.
"Hopefully some good results for us will make him feel better.
"It will get his spirits up for his comeback ahead. He will come back strong, I'm sure.
"We all want to help him with that."
Vlaar was impressed with Okore before his injury lay-off.
The 21-year-old was just starting to make his presence known in the back four when he was struck down against Newcastle.
Vlaar thinks the colossal defender will come back stronger than ever.
But before that, Vlaar has backed Nathan Baker and Ciaran Clark to step up and impress.
He added: "Whenever Ciaran and Nathan have played they have done great. I enjoy playing with them. They are very strong.
"But we can trust everyone to perform. We are in it together.
"It's not just 11 players, it's about 25. We need everybody.
"That's already been shown because a lot of changes have been made already."
