Gabby Agbonlahor is the man to fire England to the World Cup finals in Brazil.
That's the view of former Villa striker Stan Collymore, who covers the national side in his role with TalkSPORT.
Agbonlahor's exclusion surprised many but Collymore thinks it's only a matter of time before the powerful forward returns to the Three Lions fold.
Collymore thinks Agbonlahor has the necessary attributes to impress in the remaining two qualifying games - and beyond.
He said: "England will hopefully clinch a place in next year's World Cup finals when they play their matches next month.
"And I reckon Gabby Agbonlahor could be the man to make sure we go to Brazil.
"Last Tuesday's goalless draw in Ukraine might have edged us closer to the finals but Roy Hodgson must have been concerned by his team's lack of striking power in Kiev.
"If he wants someone with outrageous pace who is also experienced and is capable of scoring goals, he doesn't have to look any further than Villa's record Premier League marksman.
"Southampton's Ricky Lambert had a thankless task up front on his own on Tuesday - and didn't do too badly in difficult circumstances. But he has played only a fraction of the Premier League football that Agbonlahor has.
"Gabby will be at his peak over the next couple of years and he certainly deserves a recall to the national squad after the way he has started the new campaign.
"True, he hasn't yet added to his impressive 63-goal Premier League haul this season, but his pace and power earned Villa two penalties in the opening day victory and he also set up Christian Benteke's goal at Chelsea.
"He has honed his movement down to a tee over the course of more than six seasons in the top flight and has developed a cute football brain.
"In his current form, surely he is worth another England chance?"
