AVTV video reaction: Lambert/Benteke/El Ahmadi

Paul Lambert, Christian Benteke and Karim El Ahmadi faced the AVTV cameras after Villa's defeat to Newcastle.

It was a disappointing afternoon for Lambert's team, who equalised through Benteke midway through the second half but couldn't hold on for a share of the spoils.

Lambert was disappointed with the manner of Villa's defeat against the Magpies.

The Villa boss admitted his team's defending wasn't good enough.

He also gave an update on the fitness of Jores Okore, who was forced off with an injury in the first half.

Benteke spoke to the club's TV channel after scoring his fifth goal of the season.

But the Belgian striker admitted his goal was little consolation given the result.

El Ahmadi was disappointed that Villa didn't kick on and take something from the match having fought back from Hatem Ben Arfa's first-half strike.

European Cup winner and AVTV pundit Morley gave his assessment on the defeat.

He felt Villa needed to do more to breakdown the stubborn Newcastle outfit.

But the former winger praised the efforts of Fabian Delph in the central ground.
