Nicklas Helenius reckons he can be a creative force in Villa's frontline, insisting: "I enjoy supplying as much as scoring."
Helenius showcased his ability to both score and assist goals during an impressive pre-season campaign following his move from Aalborg.
The Dane, who hopes to make his debut in Saturday's top-flight opener at Arsenal, scored twice on the tour of Germany and laid on two goals in the victory over Walsall.
Helenius says he derives as much satisfaction from setting up team-mates as find the target himself.
"Assisting for me is as good as a goal," said the 22-year-old.
"A good pass is sometimes the best thing in football, I think.
"When a midfielder makes a good pass for me so I can score an easy goal then that is his goal.
"Assisting goals is also good for me. I feel part of a goal if I make a good assist.
"Last year I made seven assists in Denmark. I didn't score in six games but I made four assists in those six games so I still feel I've played a part in the goal if I make an assist."
Helenius says last weekend's victory over Malaga has given Villa an extra confidence boost ahead of the Arsenal trip.
He hopes Paul Lambert's team can take the plus points of their first-half display into the Emirates contest.
"They have missed some players but they are a good team," the forward added.
"In the first half we played very, very good and if we can bring that into the Premier League it will be a good season for us."
