Antonio Luna admits he feels like a kid before Christmas as he awaits his Villa Park debut.
Luna hopes to play against his countrymen from Spain as Malaga come to town on Saturday for the final pre-season clash before the 2013-14 term.
The left-back is relishing the "good examination" which he feels will offer excellent preparation ahead of the new season.
And he's also massively excited at playing in B6 in front of a jubilant and expectant crowd.
He said: "I can't wait to play at Villa Park. It will be so exciting.
"When I went to Villa Park soon after I signed, I was really impressed - and there was nobody there, it was completely empty!
"So it will be incredible with the fans there singing and chanting.
"The fans clearly love their team and their players and I can't wait to feel that connection at home.
"I am looking forward to the Malaga game. It's a team from Andalucía, which is where I am from.
"It's a very good side. It's a team which has several players who are my friends, the likes of Recio and Sergio Sanchez.
"They will offer us good competition. They will be a good test for us with the Premier League season close-by.
"It's a good examination. It will be really good.
"Last season they played in the Champions League so that shows their quality. They finished sixth in La Liga too, which is a very good position.
"It's definitely one for everyone to look forward to."
