Leandro Bacuna insists the dressing room is pulsing with positive energy as he backed the players to step up a gear up in the build-up to the start of the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League campaign.
Newboy Bacuna says he's joined a "friendly club with great people" and, despite the loss to Luton on Tuesday, the pacey wideman is confident ahead of the upcoming top-flight term.
He says fitness levels are rising quickly, the mood is good and belief is high.
He said: "I have been here for a few weeks now and it's been great. It's gone really well.
"It's such a nice club. The people here are really friendly - the staff and the players - it's great to be part of. I really like it here.
"I get on with everyone, all the boys. I have bonded with everyone. They're all great guys.
"Everyone treats me a friend, which I enjoy, considering the short time I have been at the club.
"I have really enjoyed the training. It's a higher level than in Holland. It's a different style of football too.
"It's been good to play games. I feel better and stronger with every match. You need that to happen, of course.
"I am getting used to it. I am certainly enjoying the atmosphere and surroundings here at Villa.
"It will be great to play in the Premier League with Villa. I am really looking forward to it.
"We're building towards that first match. The results don't matter too much at this stage. It's about getting fit.
"That's the total focus for us, being ready for that first Premier League game.
"There is a really positive atmosphere here at the club and in the dressing room.
"We know we need to step up and improve now.
"The team will be ready to go for that first game.
"We have plenty of confidence and rightly so. The atmosphere in the dressing room is great. We have a good team, a good team spirit, a top manager and good coaches.
"We are all fighters, every one of us. We will be ready.
"We must remember too, that there are still some players out injured, big players.
"When they come back it will be big for us. I am sure we will step up as a group. I am sure we will be ready. We want to show what we can do.
"I am so excited for the start of the season. I can't wait. I am looking forward to it. It's been a dream of mine from a young boy to play in the Premier League.
"It will be a big moment when my dream comes true. But that's not the end. The big test is stepping up and showing you have what it takes to play in the Premier League every week."
