Ashley Westwood has given a huge thumbs-up to Villa's six of the best.
Westwood has spent plenty of time with Leandro Bacuna, Aleksandar Tonev, Antonio Luna, Nicklas Helenius, Jores Okore and Jed Steer over the past week in Germany.
That's on the training field and at the dinner table.
He's been impressed with the lads as players and people and thinks they will help the team continue to progress.
He said: "All the newboys are settling in really well. They have all bought into what the manager wants straight away.
"You have to work hard with the gaffer. That's what he demands.
"He commands respect because of what he done in the game, as a player and as a manager.
"His overall ethos, of how you conduct yourself on and off the pitch, everyone buys into that.
"The newboys certainly do. They are hungry players who are up for the fight. Hopefully they can continue to build the club.
"It's been great in Germany for two reasons - fitness and bonding. Both factors are very important.
"Fitness is the main thing. We were there to work - and we worked hard.
"But obviously it was great for everyone to get together as a group.
"It certainly helps. From my own example, I signed late in the window and was straight into the season."
