Watch this intriguing interview with Jack Reacher author Lee Child as he discusses his love of Villa on AVTV.

Check out our exclusive interview with Child.

Best-selling author Child's books have sold 70 million copies worldwide.

He was at Villa Park to chat to our online television channel about claret and blue matters as well as discussing the new movie - based on his book 'A Wanted Man' - featuring Tom Cruise.

Child now lives in New York, but he grew up in the Midlands and made his first visit to Villa Park for the famous 8-3 victory over Leicester City in 1962, when he was seven.

He talks about those early days following the club as well as the European Cup/League Championship era where all his dreams came true.

He discusses how he could have been a West Brom fan but was enticed to follow Villa because of the "swaggering punch of ruffian pirates" he watched - the likes of Bobby Thomson and Derek Dougan.

Child chats about how he uses player names for characters and places in his books - like the town Hogg Parish, named after former academy graduates Jonathan Hogg and Elliot Parish.

He talks to us about his hero Gordon Cowans - a player he says could have played "in any team in any era in the world."

Of interest to Jack Reacher fans, he talks about the new movie, the casting of Tom Cruise in the title role and plans for new films based on his books.

Finally he tells an interesting tale about how a fresh-faced David Beckham once washed his car.
