Newboy Antonio Luna admits Villa's exciting start to the 2013-14 season adds an extra buzz to his Barclays Premier League arrival.
Villa face Arsenal [a] and Liverpool [h] in the opening duo of games.
Luna is relishing these clashes as Villa look to make a fast start to the campaign against tough opposition.
He said: "The fact that it's two big clubs at the beginning is an extra motivation on top of the fact I am very, very keen to start the season with my new club.
"Those two games add an extra point to my excitement at starting in the Premier League with Aston Villa.
"I really can't wait to get started. I have a great expectation coming here."
There's a long way to go before Villa head to the Emirates Stadium for the season opener.
There will be the cut-and-thrust of pre-season training as well as a playing schedule which includes three matches in Germany as well as a host of domestic games too.
Luna will also have to master the language, which he is already showing good progress at learning.
He added: "I know that a change of culture and environment is something I must now get used to but I'm looking forward to this.
"I'm looking forward to picking up the language and to experiencing everything of my new environment and culture in a short time.
"I've always believed that I could play in the Premier League and to have this opportunity with a club as historic and huge as Aston Villa and with a manager who is building a squad of young players with great prospects is tremendously exciting for me.
"The manager explained to me that it is a young squad but also one with good experience and everyone is hungry, everybody wants to succeed here.
"This is perfect because I am keen to make progress myself and I want to be part of this."
