Lowton Week: PICS - Matt's season Part Two

Matt Lowton remained an ever-present in the league for Villa throughout the middle part of 2012-13.

Lowton continued to star in all of the top-flight games, missing only the FA Cup third round victory over Ipswich.

The full-back played a crucial role in victories over Reading and Liverpool in the league and Norwich in the Capital One Cup.

Villa's tough late-December and early January period didn't faze Lowton and the former Sheffield United man went from strength to strength.

He started to weigh in on Villa's attack and in the 3-3 draw against Everton he produced a perfect cross for Christian Benteke to head home.

That display set Lowton up for a strong finish to his debut campaign in claret and blue.
