There's only one way to describe Gabby Agbonlahor's second half of the season - exemplary.

Agbonlahor was in explosive form in the closing months of the campaign, finding both form and goals in Villa's successful survival bid.

It all started at West Brom as he bagged a brilliant solo effort to put the away side in cruise control, only for the Baggies to hit back for a 2-2 draw.

He continued in that same vein at Goodison Park, heading home in between two Christian Benteke efforts in a dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton.

Agbonlahor scored the vital winner at the Madejski Stadium as Reading were put to the sword by Paul Lambert's emerging side.

He scored again in yet another win, hitting the opener for the home team in a thrilling 3-2 victory over QPR.

Agbonlahor popped up with the opener again at the Britannia Stadium as a Matt Lowton-inspired wonder goal gave Villa real hope they could survival the basement battle.

The star striker then broke Dwight Yorke's scoring record in the Barclays Premier League, making it 6-1 on a wondrous night at Villa Park in the win over Sunderland.

He saved his best for last, hitting two hugely important goals in the crunch 2-1 win at Norwich, his decisive effort coming right at the death.

If he can start the next season as he's finished this past one, it could be his best-ever.
