Ron Vlaar insists Villa head to Wigan with "good feelings" due to their impressive form in the season run-in.
Villa may have lost to Chelsea but Villa prefers to concentrate on the terrific performances that earned wins over the likes of Sunderland, Norwich and Stoke.
Vlaar rightly points to the fact that Villa played admirably against Rafa Benitez's Europa League winners and, in fact, should have earned a positive result.
Villa skipper Vlaar wants to use that feelgood factor to finish the campaign in style at the DW Stadium.
He told AVTV: "We want to sign-off with a good performance. We have one more game to go.
"The way we have been playing and the results we have been getting over the past few months, we have to go there with good feelings.
"We have had some good away wins. The confidence is good in the team because results give you belief.
"We lost to Chelsea but we still played good.
"Now it's on to Wigan and we will be backed by a good away crowd.
"The away fans are the 12th man every time for us. They have been all season.
"We always take a good support wherever we go. The supporters have been fantastic.
"We now want to give them a good result to finish the season."
