Matt Lowton and Karim El Ahmadi could figure against Wigan - but Ciaran Clark is out.
Lowton came off against Norwich and then missed the Chelsea game with a thigh injury.
But Paul Lambert says he could well be fit to face the Latics on Sunday.
Lowton has been one of the many success stories of the season, excelling in claret and blue since his summer move from Sheffield United.
Lambert will be happy with the right-back's fitness boost although he will decide on whether to take a risk closer to the Sunday encounter.
El Ahmadi missed the Sunderland, Norwich and Chelsea matches.
But the midfield playmaker has now returned to training at Bodymoor Heath and should be in contention for the season finale.
Moroccan El Ahmadi impressed in the second half against Man Utd before injuring his groin in training the following week.
Clark's season, however, is now over.
The young stopper, like El Ahmadi, missed the Sunderland, Norwich and Chelsea games.
But he has failed to recover from the foot problem which sidelined him in training.
