Paul Lambert has hailed the form of midfield maestro Ashley Westwood, calling his performances "absolutely outstanding."
Westwood was snapped up from Crewe for under £1m and has gone on to shine brightly in his first season of Barclays Premier League football.
Fans tweeted their support for Westwood by voting him the "one to watch" next season for Villa.
Lambert is delighted with the bond between the player and the fanbase.
He believes the adulation for Westwood is seen most keenly when the playmaker takes a corner - with supporters applauding him generously.
Lambert said: "Westy has been outstanding, absolutely outstanding.
"We bought him for under a million pounds. I'd like to know his value now, what that would be.
"He's been terrific, really terrific.
"The big thing for me was there for all to see at the weekend when he took a corner. The ovation he got from supporters was unbelievable.
"He has been unbelievable in terms of the way he has performed. His pass success rate has been extraordinary.
"He never gives it away. It's difficult to find a player like that now.
"But he's fitted in really well at the club too."
Lambert also paid tribute his midfield partners - Fabian Delph and Yacouba Sylla.
The boss has been highly impressed by their performances of late too.
He said: "Fabian has played a sustainable amount of games now and has had the benefits of being injury-free.
"I think he's seen what's happening and wants to drive on. He was excellent against Chelsea.
"Yacu's performance against Chelsea was outstanding too. He came from the French Division Two."
