There's no question who starred for Villa against Chelsea - the midfield three of Yacouba Sylla, Fabian Delph and Ashley Westwood.

The top trio were here, there and everywhere in all-action performances during a rip-roaring ninety minutes.

Special mention, too, to Ron Vlaar, Eric Lichaj and Nathan Baker who also figured highly in the statistics against the Blues.

Delph was No.1 for take-ons with six successful from seven attempted. Sylla was No.2 with two successful from two attempted, alongside Lichaj, Vlaar and Christian Benteke.

Sylla was No.1 for tackles, with four won from five attempted. Westwood was No.2 with three won from three attempted. Delph was No.3 with two won from three attempted.

Delph was No.1 for interceptions with nine, along with Westwood. Vlaar was No.3 with six. Lichaj was No.4 with five. Yacouba Sylla was No.5 with three.

Delph was No.3 for passes with fifty-three successful from fifty-seven made. Westwood was No.4 with fifty from fifty-six made. Sylla was No.7 with forty-one successful from forty-seven made.

Delph was No.2 for attacking third passes with twenty-four successful from twenty-eight in total. Sylla was No.3 with eighteen successful from twenty made.

Sylla was No.2 for chances created with one goal from two chances created. Delph was No.3 with three chances created.

Baker was No.2 for blocks with two, along with Westwood.

Baker was No.1 for clearances with eight successful from nine made. Joe Bennett was No.4 with four successful from six made. Vlaar was No.5 with two successful from five made.

Baker was No.1 for aerial duels with five won from seven attempted. Benteke was No.3 with two won from four attempted.

Benteke was No.2 for shots with one in total, one on target and one goal. No.1 was Frank Lampard with six in total, three on target and two goals.

Villa's No.1 pass combination was Bennett to Delph with fourteen. No.2 was Westwood to Sylla with twelve.
