Christian Benteke reckons his positive outlook has helped him flourish during a stunning first season at Villa.
Benteke received more plaudits at Tuesday's end-of-season awards dinner, picking up the Players' Young Player of the Year gong.
The 22-year-old has made a sensational impact since joining from Genk in August, breaking the 20-goal barrier during his first campaign in English football.
And the smiling Belgian hotshot has put the success down to his upbeat nature.
Benteke admits he is relishing every minute of his Villa career.
"I try to enjoy doing my job," he said.
"When I come to the training ground I try to keep smiling because some people in their life have some hard jobs so we have to enjoy our jobs.
"That's why I try to be positive all of the time."
Benteke expressed his pride at winning the Players' Young Player accolade at the glittering end-of-season ceremony.
He paid tribute to his team-mates who voted for him, as well as the Villa supporters who have already taken him to their hearts.
"I am very proud to get this trophy but I would like to say thank you to my team-mates and to the supporters," added Benteke.
"The supporters are with us all the way and I'm very proud.
"When I came the fans gave me a lot of respect and I try to give it to them back on the pitch. I am very happy to play at Aston Villa."
