Villa Park proving to be the perfect student party venue

Villa Park is perfect as a student party venue.

That's the verdict of Sarah Burrell from the University of Birmingham's psychology department.

B6 is really becoming the place-to-be for scholars looking to let their hair down after a tough year of academia.

Our stadium's central location is key but also, insisted Burrell, the ground's "traditional heritage combined with state-of-the-art facilities."

She said: "We had a fantastic time at Villa Park once again, with the Trinity Lounge providing the perfect venue for our annual ball.

"We had no hesitation in booking it for a second time for a number of reasons.

"First, it's the ideal location for people in and around the city. It's easily-found because of the stature of the football club itself.

"Everyone knows where Villa Park is - and if you do happen to get lost because you're a student who doesn't know the area that well, passers-by can easily send you in the right direction if you ask.

"Second the venue itself is fantastic. The stadium is just class. It is an old, traditional ground and you really get that nostalgic feeling about it, which I think is nice.

"But equally, it has a tremendous array of suites to choose from when booking for a big party.

"Third, the service you get when you book is second to none. When you're organising it, the staff are excellent and when you have the night itself, everything is catered for. They take care of your every need.

"We'd have no hesitation in booking again - and I'd recommend fellow students to do the same if they want to organise events in the future."

Over 2,000 students have flocked to Villa Park over the past two months, with the venue reaping the rewards of several gongs for consistently high levels of service in the hospitality sphere.

And it's not just the University of Birmingham, with University of Wolverhampton and Aston University also catered for, with departments including dance, rugby and psychology enjoying the facilities.

Alison Plant, head of hospitality, added: "We're delighted that Villa Park is being recognised as a venue of choice for students.

"Villa will always be synonymous with football, of course, as one of the founder members of both the Premier League and the Football League.

"But for many years now it has gained a burgeoning reputation as a party and events venue and we're thrilled that's continuing with our scholarly friends."
