Gabby Agbonlahor couldn't have picked a better occasion to claim his place as Villa's greatest Premier League marksman.

When the Erdington-born striker rounded Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in the closing stages of Monday's stunning 6-1 victory, a place in the claret and blue record books beckoned.

Not only did Agbonlahor's 88th minute strike put the finishing touches to a wonderful night, it took him past Dwight Yorke in Villa's all-time Premier League goal charts.

While goal number 61 was applied with minimal fuss, it will have no doubt given the 26-year-old as much satisfaction as any of the previous 60.

After sealing his place in the history books, we asked Agbonlahor to pick his personal top five.

Unsurprisingly, a couple of efforts against our arch rivals feature high on his list, as well as one from a memorable victory against one of English football's big guns.

Villa 2-0 Fulham, August 30, 2009

"There was a game against Fulham at home where I scored with my left foot from long range.

"From what I remember of it I just thought 'why not?' and I must have hit the right part of the ball and it flew in.

"It was early in the season so it was a nice one to get my goals going for the season."

Blues 1-2 Villa, [November 11, 2007]/Blues 0-1 Villa [September 13, 2009]

"The away goals against Blues - they were big goals.

"Those goals are massive for me personally as a Villa fan and for the rest of the fans.

"When I came up from the youth team we were getting a few bad results against Blues and it was nice to come in and do my bit to help change that.

"Those sorts of goals, I will remember for years to come.

"They were the most important - the Blues games - because the buzz you get from those goals is more than any other goal, really.

"Each time I can remember the celebrations with the fans - those memories will live with me forever."

Arsenal 0-2 Villa, [November 11, 2008]

"It is really hard to pick from all of the goals.

"But mainly the ones that have been big goals - such as the one at Arsenal away a few seasons back - are important to me."

Villa 3-1 Blackburn, [August 20, 2011]

"It was one of those where players have got used to me running down the line.

"So I tried to cut in and take a quick shot and it went in the top corner.

"It was in the first half and it was still 0-0 so it proved to be important too."
