Fab forward Andreas Weimann has been praised for his "natural style" as he made his first start of the season on the AVTV microphone.

Weimann joined commentator/presenter Jack Woodward on press duties as the pair watched Villa U21s draw 1-1 with Fulham U21s.

Weimann followed in the footsteps of Kyle Walker, Marc Albrighton, Gary Gardner and Barry Bannan in taking on media work on the club's in-house television channel.

While Weimann's style on the pitch is all action, he's much more relaxed with a microphone in his hands.

Woodward, an eleven-year veteran at the club, was certainly impressed with the contribution of Weimann.

He said: "First off, it was great to have Andreas with us. He's a big fan favourite here and his opinions on the action will have been highly-respected by our fans.

"He was the perfect pundit for this sort of game, too, because he has come through the ranks and it wasn't so long ago that he was playing at this level.

"From a professional perspective, he was excellent. He spoke succinctly. He spoke intelligently. He didn't waffle on or clam up. He gave an interesting insight into the game.

"He even laughed at my jokes! So 10 out of 10 for that."

Weimann was delighted to be given the chance to comment on the action.

He added: "I really enjoyed it. It was a good experience. It wasn't as hard as I thought, actually. I hope I did a good job for the fans."
