Paul Lambert is hopeful of having Gabby Agbonlahor back for the clash with Man Utd next Monday.
Agbonlahor missed out on the draw with Fulham with a knock which he couldn't shake off.
Lambert revealed the clash came too soon for the fab forward.
But he is keeping his fingers crossed that the in-form striker will be available for selection again at Old Trafford.
Agbonlahor, of course, has been in fine form over the past few weeks, scoring vital goals against QPR, Reading and Stoke.
And he's just one shy of breaking Dwight Yorke's top-flight scoring record.
Agbonlahor also scored the goal which ended 26 years of hurt at Old Trafford as Villa ran out 1-0 winners in December 2009.
Lambert will be eager to see him ready for the latest Red Devils encounter, as Villa begin their vital five-match end to the season.
Lambert said: "We lost Gabby, which was a blow to us.
"It was too early for him. But he's doing really well.
"Hopefully he will be back for the next game."
