Sports Journalist of the Year Walsh hosting Q&A evening

Join us for an Evening with David Walsh, award-winning journalist and author of Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong.

When Lance Armstrong won his first Tour de France title in 1999 he enjoyed a huge well of support around the world.

His was a great story, the cancer survivor who came back to win the 'Tour of Renewal' after the drugs scandals of previous years.

The greatest comeback in sport, however, it was not. It turned out to be the greatest fraud.

David Walsh went in search of the real story, the truth about Lance Armstrong and the seven Tour de France titles which would be exposed as seven deadly sins.

David Walsh's story took him around the world as he uncovered a mounting pile of evidence until finally he was vindicated when Lance Armstrong was stripped of his Tour de France titles and his reputation left in tatters.

The chief sports writer of the Sunday Times, David Walsh will reveal why he pursued Lance Armstrong from the moment of his greatest triumph in 1999 and why he knew instinctively that the fairytale would not be real.

David Walsh was recognised in March 2013 as the British Sports Journalist of the Year for his tireless investigative journalism over a thirteen-year period which led to Lance Armstrong's demise.

Attendees will have the opportunity to put their questions in a Q&A session, following a presentation by the author on Lance Armstrong's downfall.

The event takes place on Friday April 19, with a 7pm start in the Holte Suite.

Tickets are £10 per person.

They can be purchased by contacting 0800 612 0950.
