Ron Vlaar paid tribute to Brad Guzan and Andi Weimann on the final whistle as he hailed a vital three points for Villa.
Vlaar called Guzan "brilliant" for his first-half saves, which kept the team in the crunch contest.
And he dubbed Weimann "amazing" for his all-action second-half display, which saw him score one and set up the other.
Vlaar said: "Brad saved us in the first-half with some amazing saves and in the second half Andi was really fantastic.
"Brad was world-class. The saves he made for us in the first-half were fantastic. He is the man of the match for me because if he didn't make the saves, we couldn't win the game.
"They only scored once in the first half and then we get a good equaliser in stoppage time. That was a very important moment for us.
"In the second half we had more control in the game. We were more on their side of the pitch.
"Andi in the second half was really amazing."
Vlaar was certainly a happy man on the final whistle as he toasted the huge win.
He added: "The victory was really vital. We worked really hard for it.
"It's great for us. I am so happy because to win two weeks in a row is so important for us.
"It was a fantastic game of football. It was going up and down, with high speed and a lot of chances. We were the ones with the three points at the end so I am very happy.
"Everyone is very happy, pleased, relieved and proud. It was a great day for us."
