Midfield general Fabian Delph says Yacouba Sylla likes a tackle more than he does.
Delph is renowned as a player who loves getting stuck in during training sessions.
But he says Sylla has taken the art of dispossessing an opponent to the next level.
Aside from his hardman status, Delph insists Sylla is a good player who is improving all the time, given his move from the Ligue 2 to the Premier League.
Delph said: "He loves a tackle more than I do - and trust me, that's saying something!
"He's hunting for the ball, getting stuck in and generally showing that hunger for competition.
"That's great to see. It's a real positive at Bodymoor.
"He has that will to win the ball and win to win in every match he plays, whether that's in training or in games.
"I personally think you should train how you play. Yacouba does that every single day.
"He brings a competitive edge to training. If you train at 50%? That doesn't work for me. I have to train at 100%. Yacouba does that too.
"But there's more to him that just tackling and getting stuck in. He's a good player who's improving all the time with us at the training ground.
"He got a feel for the action against Everton. He's ready to be called upon, definitely."
