Villa are looking to make it three consecutive wins in the Barclays U21 Premier League when they take on Fulham at Hinckley tonight.
It has been a good fortnight for the club at youth level with the U18s earning big wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, the U21s thrashing Sunderland and the NextGen Series side defeating Ajax in Amsterdam.
The likes of Samir Carruthers, Graham Burke and Jack Grealish, who starred in that Ajax win, are back in action again this evening.
However, in-form striker Michael Drennan misses out on the latest U21 encounter.
Villa are well-placed in third spot in their group following back-to-back wins over Blackburn and Sunderland.
But a victory tonight could see Gordon Cowans' team top the table on goal difference.
Coach Cowans wants his team to build on their performance at Sunderland, insisting it was the best they had played all season.
"The second half was as good as I've seen," he added.
"We kept the ball well, shifted the ball around nice and early and caused them all sorts of problems.
"There wasn't a lot to be said at half-time - just more or less keep going we were doing.
"We needed to play a little bit quicker, up the tempo, shift the ball about, keep shifting them about to tire them out, get balls in to Mikey Drennan and have a look at his movement. It was very good football."
Tonight's opponents Fulham are yet to register a win in phase two of the competition, having drawn against Sunderland and Middlesbrough and lost to Chelsea and Everton.
