Paul Lambert has spoken of his delight at the contribution in training of new signings Yacouba Sylla and Simon Dawkins.
Sylla and Dawkins joined Villa on the final day of the January transfer window.
The pair signed from Clermont Foot and Tottenham Hotspur respectively and have been adapting to the pace of the Barclays Premier League on the fields of Bodymoor Heath since their moves.
Lambert has been delighted with their form in training and believes both can do well for Villa in the coming weeks and months ahead.
He said: "They've been great. Both Simon and Yacouba have been really good.
"They are finding their feet.
"Simon did well when he came on against West Ham the other week. And Yacouba is definitely one I think could do well."
Gabby Agbonlahor described Sylla as the "hard man" of the squad this week.
Lambert likes the midfielder's enthusiasm for a tackle but doesn't think he's over-zealous in his approach.
He added: "He doesn't put two footers in. He does it honestly.
"He's got great enthusiasm for the game."
