Ron Vlaar believes firmly that Villa will climb the table because he sees definite signs of improvement every day in training.
Vlaar has great confidence in Paul Lambert's emerging team and thinks they are progressing positively.
The performances against West Brom, Newcastle, Everton and West Ham in successive Barclays Premier League matches have been uplifting - and Vlaar thinks that's a great sign as they head into their final twelve top-flight encounters.
Vlaar insists belief as well as form will play a huge part as Villa look to fire away from the drop zone in the coming weeks.
He said: "We have to believe and show each other that is the only way.
"We are improving. We grow and we improve every day - that is the most important thing.
"You know what you have to do. It all starts with working very hard, giving everything that you have then of course you need the results for confidence. Now we've won so that will help us going-forward for the rest of the season."
Vlaar insists belief will also be a key attribute when Villa take on Arsenal at The Emirates this weekend.
He added: "We played very well in the home game against them. It was 0-0 and it was too bad that we didn't win that game.
"We had a shot on the crossbar which was unlucky but the team performance was very good and we need it again.
"I think we have to believe we can get a good result. They have a lot of qualities. They are very strong. We have to play our best to beat them."
