Villa Ladies have clinched the signing of Chloe Jones from Liverpool ahead of the County Cup quarter-final with Copsewood Ladies on Sunday.
Jones has put pen to paper on a deal with the claret and blues and boss Joe Hunt is absolutely thrilled with the capture of the Super League star.
The midfielder will go straight into the squad for the weekend clash, which has been switched from Boldmere St Michael's to Sutton Town.
Hunt said: "Chloe is a wonderful player. She has spent two seasons with Liverpool playing in the top division so she knows the game really well.
"It's a massive signing for us as other clubs were very interested in her. It shows the ambition of the club that we can attract quality players.
"She will fit in very well with our group, adding some quality to our team.
"She can play as a holding midfielder but can also do the other side and be very creative.
"We'll try and get her on the ball as much as possible so she can bring the attacking midfielders, forwards and wingers into the game."
Hunt is thrilled at the new addition - and thrilled to have a weekend game at last.
Villa Ladies have only played two matches in eight weeks so the eagerness is clearly there in camp.
He added: "At last we have a game. We have had to move the game to Sutton Town as the pitch at Boldmere is still unplayable.
"Sutton Town have a new 3G pitch which is fantastic.
"The players have been very frustrated because they have trained as normal, preparing for matches, but then had the setback of postponed games.
"Hopefully now we can have a run of matches and get the season back on track.
"We have quite a few injuries at the moment so I'm extremely grateful in having a big, quality squad.
"Everyone is eager to play, so I'm hopeful of a positive result at the weekend."
Squad: Courtney, Cooper, Crackle, Lowe, Petrovic, Richards, Vaughan, Merritt, Moran, Cusack, Stringer, Jones, Follis, Clarke, Gibson, Davies.
