Shay Given has shaken off a hamstring injury to take his place in the starting XI for tonight's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg.

The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper was touch and go to feature in the crunch encounter against Bradford but he has been declared fit to play his sixth cup fixture this season.

He replaces Brad Guzan in one of three changes from Saturday's 2-2 draw at West Brom.

Barry Bannan comes in to midfield for cup-tied midfielder Ashley Westwood, while Stephen Ireland takes injured centre-back Nathan Baker's spot.

Meanwhile, Bradford are unchanged from the first leg at Valley Parade.

VILLA: Given, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett, Lowton, Ireland, Delph, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Bannan, Benteke. Subs: Guzan, Bent, Lichaj, Holman, Weimann, Stevens, Carruthers.

BRADFORD: Duke, McHugh, Darby, McArdle, Good, Atkinson, Doyle, Hines, Jones, Wells, Hanson. Subs: McLaughlin, Ravenhill, Reid, Thompson, Connell, Nelson, Turgott.
