Brett Holman is determined to give Villa's loyal supporters some early New Year cheer at Swansea this afternoon.
Holman insists Paul Lambert's squad understand the pain the claret and blue faithful have endured over the festive period with defeats to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic.
Now the Australian international, who delivered a man-of-the-match display in a win over Swansea at Villa Park in September, wants to give the fans something to cheer about after a disappointing run of results.
Holman hailed the Villa supporters for sticking behind the team through their recent difficulties - particularly after falling behind against Wigan on Saturday.
"There were a lot of disappointed faces - everybody wants one thing and whether you or playing or supporting it is tough to take," said the former AZ Alkmaar ace.
"We had a good game against Swansea at home.
"We've seen footage of them and they are a very good, well-drilled footballing side.
"We will have to be ready again and give it everything and hopefully the people who are supporting this club are still behind us after those heavy defeats.
"They were fantastic again against Wigan after we went a goal down.
"That gives us a lift and hopefully we can do it again against Swansea.
"If we can nick a result against Swansea then we will go into the cup games against Bradford and Ipswich with a boost."
