John Carew has paid tribute to Christian Benteke, hailing him "the new Villa Park hero."
Carew himself was a much loved figure in B6 as his powerful performances helped the claret and blue troops to a host of victories between 2006 and 2010.
Carew was a cult figure with the masses and the fans chanted his name every game, proclaiming: "John Carew, Carew, he's bigger than me and you, he's gonna score one or two, John Carew, Carew."
Now he accepts there's a new star of the side.
Supporters have christened a new song for Benteke to the tune of Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes.
It's a message Carew joined in with on Twitter as he gave the powerful forward his seal of approval.
Carew regularly tweets about claret and blue matters and clearly follows the exploits of Lambert's Lions.
He's certainly been impressed with the impact of 6ft 3in Benteke.
He tweeted: "Benteke is the new hero that Villa Park needed.
"After wins over Norwich and Liverpool, my Villans are flying!!
"Benteke is on fire. Lil Weimann is not Lil anymore. The way Villa are playing warms my heart."
Make sure you back the boys against Tottenham.
