Villa v Arsenal pre-match show: Stars hoping to click through the gears

AVTV enjoyed access all areas at Bodymoor Heath this week as Ashley Westwood, Barry Bannan, Darren Bent and Gary Gardner took part in an epic computer challenge.

All four men battled it out for the crown of 'Most Wanted' in the Need for Speed dynamic driving battle.

Westwood put his pedal to the metal to come out on top and after emerging successful, he chatted to AVTV about his delight.

The in-form midfielder also chatted about the upcoming match with Arsenal, saying the boys need to step on the accelerator on Saturday.

He discusses his pleasure at being a first team regular at present and how he's thrilled to be out there trying to help the side push up the table.

Westwood highlights the atmosphere against Man Utd and calls for more of the same at Villa Park for the visit of the Gunners.

Bannan also joins us and insists that belief is high among the lads despite the results not going their way.

The silky central star highlights the fact Villa have been playing well and results will follow.

He also discusses the fierce competition for places in camp, especially in the middle ground.

He says Arsenal are full of genuine quality but stresses that Villa have what it takes to emerge victorious.

Gardner, still out with a knee injury, says he'll be cheering the lads on from the sidelines on Saturday.

He insists he's kicking every ball from the sidelines as he looks to three points.

Captain Ron Vlaar also joins us on the popular preview programme.

Like Westwood before him, he says the noise levels were unbelievable from the home fans for the Man Utd game.

He insists that this sort of din can make a real difference and lift the players.

Vlaar reveals he rates Arsenal very highly but thinks Villa are in a false position and knows the luck will turn if they keep applying themselves.

Lee Hendrie is a special guest on the show too, joining us after competing in the Stan Petrov charity match.

Hendrie says the festive period will be massive for Villa, with the team able to surge up the table with a few solid results.

We close out the show with some crackers scored against the Gunners down the years, goals coming from the likes of Dion Dublin, Ciaran Clark, Dwight Yorke and Zat Knight.
