Villa slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Sunderland in the Barclays U18 Premier League.
Charlie Ward gave the boys in claret and blue the lead but the Black Cats fought back to secure all three points.
Ward put Tony McAndrew's team ahead early on when he hammered a 20-yard shot into the roof of the net, giving Sunderland keeper Joel Dixon no chance.
But the home team hit back seven minutes before half-time.
George Honeyman, out on the right, passed quickly inside to Mikael Mandron who crossed for Martin Smith to score from 12 yards.
Honeyman also played an instrumental part in the second on 55 minutes, teeing up Mandron to sidefoot home after good work down the left flank.
The duo combined again for the clinching goal on 78 minutes - Honeyman beating a Villa defending before pulling back a pinpoint cross for Mandron to head home.
